“3 Legs for a Cure” Jeff Brown’s Triathlon Tribute to Brittany Roche at the Lakes Region Tri Festival:
Once again Jeff Brown has taken on a great physical challenge to increase awareness of NF and honor someone from the NF community. This time he participated in the Lakes Region Tri Festival in memory of his longtime friend Brittany Roche who recently passed away from complications due to NF1.
The following was written on Jeffrey Brown’s fundraising page:
My name is Jeffrey Brown and on September 25th, 2016 I will be participating in the “Lakes Region Tri Festival” to raise funds / awareness for (NF) Neurofibromatosis, in remembrance of a young NF champion, Brittany Roche, who recently passed away due to NF.
A .9 mile Swim, a 32 mile Bike Ride, and a 6.2 mile Run is truly nothing compared to the challenges Brittany faced living with NF. Through her life Brittany remained strong and was the source of much inspiration to her family, friends and the entire NF community. Brittany was one of the original “NF kids” that participated in a fundraising golf tournament that ran for many years. She was my son Austin’s NF raffle ticket sidekick at the tournament – they were quite the happy, smiling raffle team that were always so eager to draw those raffle tickets! When Brittany was asked one year to share her personal story about her NF challenges, she didn’t shy away from the request – that was Brittany, always willing to take on a challenge!
All the funds raised from this Triathlon will be donated to NF in Brittany’s name and dedicated to all those afflicted by NF. Also, if you feel inclined to join me as a Triathlon teammate, please follow the “Lakes Region Tri Festival” website link and sign on. There are several race options and relay teams are welcome!
Brittany had the gift of giving and I want to continue with that gift giving spirit!
Thank you in advance for any type of support you can provide!
