Nicola Kean (a parent of a child with NF2) and Scott Plotkin, MD, PhD Director of the Neurofibromatosis Clinic at Massachusetts General Hospital will be hosting a Forum for families of children with NF2 from Friday, July 21 at 8:00 am through Saturday, July 22. This will be both an educational opportunity and a social opportunity for families to connect. The sessions will be held primarily at MGH with dinner Friday night at a local restaurant and a fun social activity on Saturday afternoon. They have arranged for a variety of speakers, including other specialists who treat pediatric NF2 patients as well as an adult with NF2 and parents of children with NF2.
The topics vary from “What to look for in an NF2 Clinic” to “Coping strategies for NF2 patients, their parents and their siblings.” They also want to provide plenty of time for families to connect so that they can provide support to each other going forward. A draft agenda and invitation is attached here and they welcome any feedback you may have on the program or activities. If you plan to attend the Pediatric NF2 Forum, please contact Nicola Kean at firstname.lastname@example.org.
