Linda Yew, Dean Bruno and Karen Peluso were just a few of the many members of the NF Coalition who were on Capitol Hill this week advocating for NF research. The group spent two days visiting with staff members from both the Senate and House requesting increased funding for NF in the DOD’s Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program as well as the National Institutes of Health. They also attended a Trans-NIH Neurofibromatosis Working Group Meeting where they were updated on the current NF portfolio as well as relevant initiatives and new discoveries.

The Coalition returned home with a sense of urgency that critical NF research could be lost as our government faces drastic budget cuts. We urge everyone who has an interest in NF research to write to your Senators and Representative in Congress asking them to support funding for NF research.
